Early Education & Medical Training

  • Mr. Darr began his academic journey studying Physics, earning a BSc (Hons) from University of Birmingham.

  • He then completed an MSc in Medical Physics at The University of Surrey, through the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM) scholarship.

  • Mr Darr graduated from the University of Manchester in 2009, earning his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB).

Surgical Specialisation & Clinical Career

  • In 2015 Mr. Darr commenced the Higher Surgical Training Programme (HST), specialising in Otolaryngology (ENT).

  • In 2022 he completed an Advanced Rhinology & Anterior Skull Base Fellowship at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust). 

  • In 2022 he was appointed as a substantive Consultant ENT Surgeon at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust. 

  • In 2023 he was awarded the prestigious European Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery Diploma from The University of Paris.
  • He manages a broad spectrum of adult and paediatric ENT conditions, with subspecialty focus on rhinology and anterior skull-base surgery — handling complex nasal, sinus and skull-base cases within a regional multidisciplinary team.

Educational Career

  • Mr. Darr has remained actively engaged in medical education. He holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education (PGCME) from The University of Birmingham, where his commitment to medical education was recognised with a REME (Recognising Excellence in Medical Education) award.  

  • He holds the role of honorary lecturer for Warwick University Medical School, and is a clinical supervisor for deanery appointed registrars. 

  • Mr. Darr is the director for the cadaveric Functional endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS) and facial plastics/septorhinoplasty courses at the West Midlands Surgical Training Centre — helping to train the next generation of surgeons.

  • Mr. Darr is invited faculty on numerous national FRCS viva courses (BRS, East Midlands & West Midlands).

My Focus

I specialise in treating problems of the nose, sinus & skull base – from chronic sinusitis & nasal polyps to conditions of the anterior skull base. Using modern endoscopic (keyhole) techniques, I focus on safe, precise & effective care that helps patients breathe & live better.
